Digital Free Zones

A special economic zone or international financial center has its own legal regime, its own regulator, and a mandate to attract investors and companies quickly. That makes it a national sandbox for the whole SIGN Stack, a bounded area where every building block runs at once before the same tools reach the rest of the country. Our free zone initiative builds a digital-first zone on the stack from day one, designed so that an investor can be verified, incorporated, and licensed without visiting an office.

What a Digital Free Zone Provides

  • Trusted Status: Residents, investors, and businesses receive reusable credentials for residency, investor status, company registration, and permits through a credential network, and prove their status once to every bank, landlord, and agency in the zone.

  • One-Stop Services: Company incorporation, licenses, permits, and visas run on the public services platform, with Sign AI answering investors’ questions in their own languages.

  • Market Oversight: The zone’s regulator can license and supervise virtual asset service providers and other operators from the first day.

  • Verifiable Evidence: Licensing decisions, approvals, and other significant actions in the zone are recorded on the DataHub.

  • A Digital Asset Market: Real estate and projects in the zone can be tokenized on the registry-centric model and settled in regulated stablecoins or sovereign digital money.

Business Incorporation, Real-Time Supervision, and Real-World Asset Tokenization describe incorporation, supervision, and tokenization in more detail.

Some jurisdictions already recognize digital financial assets in law and license platforms to issue and trade them. For such a jurisdiction, a free zone is a place to pilot tokenized real estate and project finance under clear rules before extending tokenization to government securities, bonds, and infrastructure.

From Zone to Nation

A zone tests the stack under real use, with a limited population and a regulator that can move quickly. Each component is designed to national standards and connects to the national identity roots, the central bank’s settlement rules, and the national DataHub, so a credential, license, or tokenized asset issued in the zone can be verified outside it. The national government can then extend the same services to the rest of the country without rebuilding them.
